b'ABP Diplomate InterviewWhere were you born and raised?I was born and raised in Michigan, around the Detroit areaWhere did you attend dental school?Tricia Crosby, DDS, MSI attended dental school and completed my residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry.When did you know that you wanted to pursue a periodontal residency?What occurred that made you decide on this career path?I knew that I wanted to be a periodontist since the first day of dental school. I started my dental career as a dental hygienist.Periodontics was, to me, the One of my dental hygiene faculty was Dr. Yetta McCullom, a periodontist. She was, and is, a mentor and role model forspecialty that could allow me to me of what a strong, intelligent woman can accomplish. Shehave the most impact in helping always encouraged me to go the distance and follow my dream of going to dental school. During my dental school training,people with their oral health while I spent a lot of time in the Department of Periodontics. The University of Illinois has a long history of being associated withalso allowing me to have long term some of the most influential periodontists in our specialty, many of them having been former AAP presidents. I was alwaysrelationships with them.welcomed in the department and invited to watch and learn from the residents.
